About

A website on the culture, politics and the opinions of those living in the Bahamian Isles.

The Cacique was the name given to the leader of the Lucayan peoples, the original inhabitants of The Bahamas. According to historians Philip Cash, Shirley Gordon and Gail Saunders, Christopher Columbus believed that the Lucayans had no religion, but he was mistaken. Lucayans thought of their leaders as those sent from their zemis (gods).

We’re about: progressive politics, accountability in the Bahamian public sector, publicizing Bahamian art and photography.  🇧🇸
